About Us

Weston Wyndes are a band of west country-based waits specialising in renaissance wind and string instruments. Waits were town musicians who played for civic events and processions, but also watched though the night and sounded the hours at vantage points in the town.
They were skilled on many instruments and could form ensembles of both loud and soft instruments. Waits normally performed in a liveried costume that reflected their community.
We take our name from Weston in Bath but our name also references the West of England as our base.
